Better Ore Distribution Mod, the name itself addresses its whereabouts. There will be better ways in the generation of Ores. This mod actually changes the way ore generates so that they are semi-grouped together in mines. This endorses exploration, the use of minecarts, and you don’t have to strip mine anymore. Also it is considered to be a fully customizable ore distribution mod. You can here edit rarity, vein size, # of veins, height from bedrock, and diameter of mine, ores rates based on biomes, vertical cluster density, and horizontal cluster density.

Installation:

Client

  • You have to open the main file for minecraft which should be in C:\user\”user name”\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\bin
  • There is a file named minecraft.jar, rename it to minecraft.zip
  • Open it with a winzip, or a similar compression program
  • Drop the file into the winzip window over the single .class files below, Don’t drop it on the folders!
  • If you haven’t for another mod, delete the META-INF folder
  • Close winzip
  • Rename minecraft.zip to minecraft.jar and your ready to play!

Server

  • Find your server.jar (it must be the .jar from minecraft.net the .exe will not work)
  • Rename it server.zip
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 of single player installation
  • Rename server.zip back to server.jar and now your friends can play!

Things to be noted: Don’t delete the Meta-inf folder for the server, it may cause your server to crash. If your server does not run properly, then try deleting it the Meta_inf. (thanks to Scearcrovv for finding this)

A complete different mod is the Fantasy of Minecraft Mod for Minecraft 1.5.2. This mod is a fully modification of Minecraft. This feature turns it into a RPG-like game.

  • Copper Ingots are crafted by smelting Copper Ore in the Furnace
  • Tin Ingots are crafted by smelting Tin Ore in the Furnace
  • Copper Tools (Shovel, Axe, Hoe, Pickaxe, Sword) are crafted in the usual way, just with copper ingots
  • Tin Tools (Shovel, Axe, Hoe, Pickaxe, Sword) are crafted just with tin ingots
  • Leather is crafted by putting fur in the tanner and use a knife as “fuel” (check screenshot, if you don’t understand)

Installation:

  • Download Modloader
  • After Downloading the minecraft files, close Minecraft
  • Go to %appdata%/.minecraft/bin
  • Open Minecraft.jar with WinRar or 7Zip
  • Delete the META-INF folder
  • Put all ModLoader Files in the minecraft.jar (It’s important, that you install modloader BEFORE Fantasy of Minecraft!)
  • ownload the Fantasy of Minecraft Mod
  • Put all the things in the Fantasy of Minecraft Files Folder in the minecraft.jar
  • Start Minecraft

MCSkin3D for Minecraft 1.5.2 has actually come into the world of Minecraft with its capabilities as a real-time skin editor. Unlike other real-time editors, this editor actually lets you paint on the model, as well as the 2d texture map, also providing a neat management facility for all of your installed skins, and a convenient upload button.

MCSkin3D is both a skin management and skin editing tool. It holds all of your skins in a convenient place, lets you manage them from within the program, and even lets you upload your skin directly to Minecraft.net without ever needing to open a browser.

MCSkin3D was inspired by several sources, notably Q2MDL, an old Quake 2 skinning tool, SkinEdit, an excellent 2d skinning program for Minecraft, as well as modern editing tools such as The GIMP.

MCSkin3D requires that you have the .NET Framework version 3.5 installed. A Linux and Mac port is in the works!

All you will see after entering into this mod. It will be always less even if I say a lot here. Mo’ Foods+ is a mod committed towards bringing a more sophisticated, wide range of foods and food making technology. Added the “+” because it has more than just edible items, but these items are based on food. This mod adds several new foods and the list is ever growing, but it also contains at least 1 new tree, at least 1 new naturally generating block. It also adds one of the simplest additions, which should be in vanilla. Sheep drop lamb

  • Dough is made from 1 flour and 3 butter. Butter has a damage value of 6 so you’ll get three slightly damaged butter blocks back.

  • To prep a dish for cooking a pie, a bowl and 5 pastry around the sides and top
  • A bucket of gravy is made from water and raw beef
  • All these ingredients in this shape make uncooked Steak Pie
  • Olive oil, will be used in some cooking recipes. Made by surrounding a glass bottle with olives
  • Glass Jar, will be used to hold certain things. It is made from a hollow diamond of 4 glass panes.

The contents also includes knives. Knives can be used in cutting apples into slices, making sliced loafs. You can butter bread slices too.
