If you find Minecraft’s food system to be boring, then you’ll enjoy the UsefulFood Mod. This mod does exactly what you think it would do: add useful food items into the game. Now, players can make foods out of things that they normally wouldn’t be able to make food out of – like plants, fruits, and vegetables found around the Minecraft world.
There are currently 29 different types of food in the UsefulFood Mod, and each food heals players in a different way. Pumpkin Soup, for example, heals 2.5 health, while a Magic Fruit Salad regenerates 5 health over a 10 second period. Foods that are more complex will heal players more than foods that are simple.
There are a number of different food recipes included in the UsefulFood Mod, and they all make sense from a cooking point of view. Players can create a sugar cube by combining 5 sugars together, for example. They can then turn that sugar cube into caramel by heating it over a fire, and then turn that caramel into a candy apple by combining a stick, apple, and caramel. As you move further up the food tiers, food will restore more health and give players more powers.
Here are a few examples of the types of food available in the UsefulFood Mod:
