The Minecraft community has added a lot of new items into the Minecraft world, but one thing we haven’t seen yet is a TV. Thanks to the TV Mod, Minecraft players will never have to suffer the indignity of owning a house without a TV.
This mod adds a flat screen TV into the Minecraft world as well as a remote. Players can craft each of these items fairly easily. Flat screen TVs can be used just like a painting. Place the TV on any wall in your home and then sit back and enjoy.
Once your TV is set up, you can craft a remote. Right clicking with the remote will cause the TV to stop or play, and pressing shift+right-click will cause it to skip to the next video.
As of now, the TV Mod is very resource intensive. It actually plays videos inside the Minecraft world, and the mod creator, TehRainbowGuy, admits that the mod is still in its experimental stages. It’s unknown whether future updates of this mod will be released, but until then, the TV Mod is certainly a cool mod to try out.
Installing the TV Mod for Minecraft 1.4.7
The installation process for TV Mod 1.4.7 can be a bit complicated, as it requires a third-party application called Xuggler in order to handle videos.
Step 2) Download TV Mod 1.4.7 from this thread
Step 3) Extract the contents of TV Mod to the Minecraft.jar folder
Step 4) Move Xuggler’s ‘LIBS’ folder to the Minecraft.jar (this can be found in your Program Files > Xuggler folder after installing Xuggler)
Step 5) Find the ‘TV’ folder, which is in Minecraft.jar/resources/mods
Step 6) Transfer any videos you want to watch into the TV folder
Step 7) Start playing and enjoy
Note: Sometimes, the TV Mod will cause players to lose their vanilla sound effects from the game. The mod creator is aware of these problems and apologizes for the inconvenience. You can restore these vanilla sounds by uninstalling the TV Mod.TV Mod for Minecraft 1.4.7,
