Users of IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft have been waiting for a bridge mod for a long time. Now, with the Power Converters Mod, that bridge is finally here.

The Power Converters Mod allows players to transfer energy between IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft, paving the way for the creation of complex new machines. Since the mod seamlessly links these two mods together, it’s called a ‘bridge’ mod.

Using the Power Converters Mod, players can easily convert the energy units from IndutrialCraft into the energy units from BuildCraft and vice versa. These conversions are performed using special energy link blocks.

The mod also allows players to generate power from materials like lava and water using special types of generators. This power can then be transferred around and distributed in order to power all sorts of different machines.

Here are a few of the new tools you can create using recipes found in the Power Converters Mod:

-Energy links

-Generators that draw power from lava, water and other surfaces

-Jet pack refuelling devices

-Oil fabricators and other small parts

Together, these units help you make unique and powerful machines. You can use a geothermal generator to create EUs from lava, for example, and then convert those EUs into other energy units.

The Power Convertors Mod is based on a lot of math. This math – found in the configuration file – determines things like power conversion rates and machine efficiency. For users who want to mess around with numbers, all of this information can be edited. A full list of what each number alters (and how you can configure these numbers yourself) can be found in the official Power Converters forum thread.

Don’t be surprised if you see the Power Converters Mod on a few Minecraft servers, as it is multiplayer compatible. Installation instructions for servers can be found in that same forum thread.
