In vanilla Minecraft, talking to other mobs – like creepers – isn’t easy. However, thanks to the Mob-Talker mod, players can now talk to all sorts of different mobs, including creepers.
Players equip a special item called a Mob-Talker and then click on the characters and mobs around them. After doing that, a special dialogue screen will open. Instead of seeing a creeper, players will see an attractive girl in a creeper mask. From this dialogue screen, there will be a number of different options. Click on each one to get a response from the creeper/girl.
Essentially, the Mob-Talker mod turns Minecraft into a mini Japanese RPG experience. The animations and character models are very similar to what you would see in a traditional Japanese RPG.
The mob-talker device itself is very easy to craft. Just put one stick at the bottom of the recipe screen and a glowstone at the top. In addition to talking to girls/creepers in disguise, players can defend them against attack. One girl always claims there is a cat following her, and she’ll be grateful if you manage to kill the cat.
As of now, the Mob-Talker mod has fairly limited functionality. However, it does allow players to add all different types of scripts into the game. You can make each character say different things, for example, or response to your dialogue options in different ways.
Mob-Talker is certainly unique, but if you’re lonely and want somebody to talk to, then this mod can help. Those who are willing to put the time and effort into creating scripts can make a full-fledged Japanese RPG experience – complete with attractive girls disguised as creepers.
